Lucky Times

Few times in my life I felt lucky, like chance was on my side. I've been very fortunate in general, but never felt lucky like those people who win the lottery or get a free upgrade to business class.

Well, one time I won a soccer jersey through twitter, and I was like, "wow, that was lucky". It was a local news station, and when I went to pick it up, they had to call the guy who organized it, I had to wait an hour and this place was like an hour away from my house.

Anyways, I got lucky quite recently. When I quit my last job I wanted to purchase the trusty old MacBook Pro that I had been using for the past 2 years. An old (lol) 2020 M1 Macbook pro. But it was so fast, I quit, they told me that they would send me a shipping label, and that happened instantly after the final meeting. So I couldnt even bring up the idea of me purchasing it from them.

So, I went to fedex which here in Barcelona its located on the airport, quite unfortunate. I wrapped up the laptop and put it in the box, and I was like, "wow, this is it?" Goodbye old friend. The laptop never went back to the US! Some issue with paperwork or something, I got it back 2 weeks later. So I contacted my previous company and I was like: "Hey, you want me to send it via DHL which is more readily available here? Or I could just buy the pc from you guys? It is a 2020 model, and I'm sure you have newer ones for other employees."

Their response: "Hey, no need to send it back, keep it. Do as you wish."

Had to go back and forth with them for them to get the MDM (kandji off of it), but I got it done. And now I have my macbook pro. And Im happy! Gotta keep all those annoying stickers.
